A native Chicagoan and veteran voice over of 25 years, Johnny Heller now resides in New York where he mainly works as a commercial voice over actor, audiobook narrator and teacher for New York’s AFTRA Actor Training Program. Heller’s distinctive voice has kept him in demand for both voice overs and audiobook narration voicing hundreds of commercials.  His credits include McDonalds, IBM, Kohls, Esso, Cannon and many other national brands and has recorded nearly 400 audiobook titles covering almost every genre.  He's received numerous nominations and awards including 20 Golden Earphone Awards, 2005 and 2009 Audie Awards, named a top voice of 2008 and 2009 and was a recipient of Publishers Weekly Listen Up Award for both years.  Audiofile Magazine named Johnny Heller as one of the top 50 voices of the 20th century.

 

Chuck StranskyAbout CHUCK STRANSKY

Chuck has narrated numerous audio books of every variety. His most recent is Galileo’s Universe and is about to record a book with Paul Ruben this week. On Broadway he was in the original production of Glengarry Glen Ross and in the Goodman Theatre’s original production, and also appeared in The Front Page. He understudied and played several roles in Death Defying Acts (with Cynthia Darlow who was a panelist in the 2010 VOU Audiobook Workshop with Paul Ruben and). He has played in regional theatres through-out the U.S. including Chicago’s Goodman and North Light Theatres. Film credits include The Spanish Prisoner, Homicide, Things Change, all written and directed by David Mamet. TV credits include Ed, Third Watch, Newhart, Murphy Brown, Frank’s Place, My Sister Sam, Law and Order and recently Dr. Delano in All My Children. He is a proud member of AEA, SAG & AFTRA for over thirty years.

New York producer, Paul Ruben, has produced and directed award winning audiobooks for every major publisher since 1987. Among his many prestigious awards is a 2003 Grammy Award (Best Spoken Word Album) as producer/director for Al Franken’s Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. APA (Audio Publishers Assoc.) Audie Awards for best audio book production in its category include: It’s Not About the Bike, Raymond and Hannah, Brimstone, The World is Flat, A Slight Trick of the Mind. Paul Ruben is probably the most sought after producer/director in the audiobook business; but not only by audiobook publishers. Beginner narrators, and even pros who want to tweak their narrative abilities, are clamoring to study with him as well. When Paul Ruben talks, narrators listen. Look for his informative and very entertaining articles often featured in Audiofile Magazine. Over the past decade he has cast and directed numerous first-time audio book performers, many of whom have become award-winning narrators, Oliver Wyman, Holter Graham, Maggie-Meg Reed and Kathleen McInerney, to name a few. Celebrities include Johnny Depp, David Brinkley, Ted Koppel, F. Murray Abraham, Burt Reynolds, Judith Ivy, and Blair Brown.

 

About TAMMY FAXEL

After joining Oasis Audio in 2008, Tammy Faxel was named Publisher in June 2010 after 25 years in the publishing industry.Her responsibilities include developing new business and sales relationships outside of traditional channels as well as developing and managing the library market sales channel. She was also responsible for managing Oasis' operational procedures, key accounts, and distributors.  Tammy started her career at Tyndale House Publishers, one of the largest Christian publishers in the world and prior to joining Oasis, she served as director of new business development for IBS-STL Global, a major international publisher based in Colorado Springs. In her role there, she spearheaded the development of a retail-oriented product line, the first for the publisher in its 200-year corporate history, as well as created targeted sales plans.

 

About LESLIE KRUEGER

Oasis Production Manager, Leslie Krueger, has been a member of the Oasis Audio team since 2008 andoversees the entire production process for an audio title.  Her job involves acquiring manuscripts from the print publishers, working directly with the authors and narrators, and scheduling dates for in-house narrations.  She approves all artwork related to the product and is involved with product promotion as well.  And it’s Leslie to whom narrators would submit their demos.

Sherri was named one of the most outstanding women in America and listed in Who’s Who In American Women Women.  One of Chicago’s most respected voice over professionals and director of Voice Over U, Sherri has voiced numerous animated and character voices for children’s games and other  audio/video products as well as hundreds of commercials and narrations for national clients like Kraft, Culligan, Sears, Mr. Clean, Bounty, McDonald’s, Procrit, and Sprint. Promos and documentaries include CBS, Lifetime, WTTW and the History Channel.
