In todays global market, an actor must embrace the new technologies
as a part of their voice over business. The voice over paradigm has
changed! Just being a proficient and talented performer is no longer
enough. New technology makes it imperative that we set up our own home
studios just to survive and compete in a global marketplace where our
competitors and predecessors have embraced the wonders of ISDN and
the internet and are sending their auditions and finished voice tracks
directly to producers.
All across the country, auditioning voice scripts
from home-based studios is becoming the norm. In fact, not having
a home studio may be the
deal-breaker in getting the job as more and more producers simply
expect voice talent to have professional-quality home studios. For
those interested
in pursuing promo and audiobook work, a home studio is absolutely
imperative.
Plain and simple: those who embrace the new world of technology
will be far more successful in the business of voice overs. Those
who avoid it will be left behind.
Dont be left behind. Accept
the new paradigm and make it work for you.
Welcome to the 21st century!
